Need a new exhaust/footpeg hanger

Hi all, An embarrassing incident involving a stationary crash (bike fell over while parked) resulted in both struts of the right rear footpeg/exhaust hanger breaking. I'm planning on drilling holes and bolting bracers front and back as a temporary measure, but I'd love to get a replacement. Can't fi...

Thanks CT - didn't find those but did find a cheap 2nd hand replacement there - very grateful for the pointer.

Re: Front mudguard

Sorry for delayed reply, my PC's been in the shop for a fortnight.

Yes, there is an MV Agusta dealer who claims to be able to get an F4 guard in 2-4 weeks. Price is silly but then so was my negligence in breaking the original. :)

Thanks all,

Julian

Front mudguard

I did a very silly thing recently. I put a padlock and chain around the front wheel of my bike to discourage thieves and forgot about it when I came back. Result - a cracked front mudguard. I've removed it and tried to glass it up but it didn't work very well. Finding a replacement locally (Darwin) ...

Re: What to do on a rainy day?

Or come to Darwin. We get no rain at all rain from April to October, and when it does rain (from November to March) it's really warm and interesting (though once or twice city-levelling) rain. All the critters come out - frogs, snakes, insects etc - and the place turns *green*. Yup, it's great rain ...

Re: bike's got the horn

Neither, if it were mine. Two-tone effect looks cool, and like it was meant to be that way. You could paint the panels under the seat black or get black aftermarket cans maybe. If you have to then I vote paint the mudguard. 'Course everyone's colour sense is different I guess. What bike's the horn f...

Re: New kid on the block at 43?

43? Barely out of puberty! I bought my first Raptor (and my first bike for 16 years) in January, and I'm 54.

Anyway howdy, and I'll have a bourbon on the rocks please. :)

Re: My Latest mod

Love the pic. :)

Would you mind posting brief details on how you made the replacement seat? Did you use the frame of the old one?

Cheers,

Julian

Re: blowing hot and cold,

That's odd. I take it there was no sign at all of anything wrong with the bike.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps this is normal - the pipe from the front pot gets way more aircooling than the other one.

Next time I'm out for a ride I'll check mine.

Re: Wot's yer tyres ?

OK, the rains have arrived, and I can report that the Michelin Pilots on my Raptor handle wet tarmac pretty well. Pretty good tyres overall. They're softish and probably wouldn't last like some Bridgestones, Dunlops or Continentals I've known, but they also probably hold the road better. I'll buy th...

Re: Wot's yer tyres ?

Michelin Pilot's , 120/70 and 180/55.

They are very good, with great stickiness when warm. I can't speak for their wet-weather performance as it hasn't rained here in the Territory in the 5 months I've owned her. The monsoons are coming up though, and I'll let you know. :|

Re: Things i've done this week

I am also debating doing these last two mods. I like the Rap's single headlight but it is a little dim at high speed on the open road. If you do go for twins I'd love to hear what bike (or after-market supplier) you got them from, and how easy it was to make them fit. I'd also like to hear what scre...
