Re: Christmas ride to Thailand
Hi Ken, great pictures :) i've done those roads a year ago in an old porsche 911 ;) if you're looking for a great motorcycle hangout, i know a place near Trang. Road-side diner with two fantastic hosts Mee and Tuu. They are also members of Thailand big bikers club. Great place, i helped decorate it ...

Re: Best Engine Oil?
i've used Motul 300V full synth in all my bikes the last couple of years...expensive, but it feels right :) and it smells wonderfully, and it is green!!! :D Any good quality oil will do, as long as you change regularly, and stick to whatever type of oil you put in there first (semi-synth, stick with...

Re: 650 or 1000?
you can have a bit of fun with the extra grunt of the 1000.
but i do think the 650 is a better balanced bike, and handles better as well.

Re: Steering Head Bearings
yeah mate, go to your local hardware/bearing shop! they have everything in stock. Every little town should have a bearing shop. In my little farmers' town there's three of them :D Even if you don't have the part number, they will measure your old bearing, and give you the exact new one. i never ever...

Re: Removing rear cylinderhead
the cylinderhead-cover is easy...dunno about the head itself though
maybe (if it doesn't work) you could loosen up the front engine mounts, and tilt the engine forward.

Re: Replacing Front Wheel Bearings
hiya, no need to worry all that much, it's reasonably simple job, as you described. :) knock out both old bearings with a drift. 2 minute job if you are good with hammers :D gently tap in the new bearings. (clean the hub thoroughly.) make sure the bearing goes in perfectly level. make sure you tap t...

Re: Waterpump impeller
yapp, impeller can be a bitch to get off. luckily it's not that expensive to replace. a lot of patience and a couple of tiny flathead screwdrivers usually does the trick. :) changing the seals is quite straightforward with a little bit of DIY experience. by the way, if you order the suzuki seals, yo...
