leaky radiator
leaky radiator
would you believe it after all i have done on the rap to get it looking nice the radiator is now leaking ,is there a cheap way to get these fixed or does anyone have one for sale at a resonable price
Nobodys gonna like the sound of this, but mine was started leaking about 6 weeks ago, sent it off to pace products to get repaired. after alot of hassling them they finally sent it back to me (the repair wasn't garrenteed' of course) just before i met moody man at squires. the next day it started leaking again. with a 1400 mile round trip to france looming i made a decision many said i'd regret.
Radweld.
Got me to and from france without loosing any water, and no other ill effects since, no overheating nowt.
£4.50 was a better investment than the £65 i payed out for a non-repair.

have had 2 radiators off of my v-rap repaired by pace (i keep one as a spare) and was well chuffed with their handywork.they had to cut off the header tank and remove the leaking vein/cappillary and weld the header tank back on.the welding was superb and was repainted to almost factory finish all for 58 quid-i guess you got unlucky.i also used the radweld when the first radiator went and it did keep me on the road and only started leaking a few months later during a trackday at cadwell when it was being caned mercilessly,cheers-steve
Did the job myself using this
http://www.easyweld.com/
just a few hours work after some practicing on coke cans etc.
a year later now and still no leaky rad
after fitting your rad again check the following:

found out my coolant hose was about 3 cm too long and putting stress on the radiator probably the reason it started cracking

No bike is ever finished!
The trip to france were brilliant, until the ride back. It rained for 11 out of 12 hours riding. it sucked big time. Then when we got on the ferry it was fine until we got into dover and it started to rain again and didn't stop till we got home, this also sucked.
I'll post a full report when i get the feeling back in me arse.
