Ignition problem

Post by fct »

Does anyone have had the problem that sometimes the Raptor doesn´t start? It is not a battery problem, it´s Ok...it´s just that sometimes when i push the start button the Raptor does nothing... It does all the check Ok, but no start. Then, trying again after a while (sometimes seconds or minutes, sometimes days) it starts just fine.

I don´t know if it is an electrical problem, a relay or something... Does anyone have an idea?

By the way, my Raptor is a 1000, year 2004.

Thanks!

The choke is not the problem, because the start engine would work anyway, but it does not. Nor the side stand switch, because i try to start it with the neutral light on. I have checked the ignition switch and it´s Ok...

The mystery continues :D

Thanks anyway...and thanks a lot for that welcome!

Neutral light good.
Clutch in.

Switchgear

Hiya,

Strip and clean the RHS switchgear, on mine, I cleaned the contact on the start push button, no problems since.

Make sure you have plenty of time, and somewhere with good lighting cos it is fiddly
