Sprucing up the old girl

Post by fatfingers73 »

I want to make my standard raptor look a bit more modern.

I'm going to start with an LED bulb replacing the brake light. And I also want some LED indicators.

Has anyone fitted LED indicators (pics please), and if so did you need the relays to slow the rate down?

I also want some pazzo type levers, does anyone make them for the raptor?

And lastly rearsets.

Many thanks, I did search 1st but couldn't find anything on the LED's.

For the brake light, the LED replacement is from a moped, I think an Aerox or MBK unit, for LED indicators you'll need a new relay to slow them, I've done this on other bikes and it nice and simple.

For the levers I've not tried any pazzo type personally but seeing as it's a standard Nissin MC I think most should fit, I know the lever is the same as from a GSXR600. I've got a Nissin MC from a ZX10-R on mine at the moment and the lever on that is the same too.

As for rearsets I dont think there are any that just bolt on, someone please correct me if I'm wrong and let me know which one's :)

LED rearlight from the Yamaha Aerox here ;)
Straight fit.
LED indicators will need a relay as Brendan said.
I have TL1000S Pazzo's (Gixxer is the same fit).
See here:

Only problem i had was the clutch switch but replaced the clutch handle mount with one from a gsx since i have barend mirrors anyway.

Thanks for the info, that's great.

Will this one fit straight on then?:

Anywhere cheaper to get one?

I also want bar end mirrors, will the clutch/front brake handle mounts fit from any gsxr?

Cheers.

Yep, those will fit :)
Ebay is the place, also try www.ebay.de , got mine from there.
You just need the clutch handle mount. Both TL1000S and GSX/R are the same. Not sure what types though but probably also used on other Suzukis as well so easy to find.
Here's one

But be sure it has the clutch switch as you can't use the Raptor switch.
Here's one including the switch but you'll have to bid on it.

Thanks, I'm going to order one of those rear lights now, will it plug straight in and control the rear light and brake light without any mods?

Also if I want to replace both the mirrors with bar ends, then getting the front brake mount will look much neater, or have I missed something?

Thanks for you help.

Thanks that's great.

Will any brake/clutch mount from a tl1000s/old gsx fit (as long as it's not hydraulic)?

TLS will fit, not sure about the gsx(r) ones.
You could take a look at the dealer/used bike shop and compare.
