power commander compability??
Hi!
I have a Raptor 1000, 2004. Will a power commander for a TL1000S fit?

Don't know from personal experience but, 993ti on here has this to say: http://www.993ti.com/powercommander/
Re: power commander compability??
I have read that post also, but that means that ALL Raptor year models can use a TL1000S unit?
As everybody know the 1000 Raptor engine is from suzuki, and the TL1000S stopped 2001, then came the SV1000 a year or two later. (correct med if im wrong). And I have spoke to the power commander makers and according to Them the power commander unit from a TL1000S will Not fit a SV1000S. other electrical conectors etc. So does that meen that a 2004 raptor 1000 has a engine from the suzuki Sv1000s, rather than TL1000s??
my quistion is, should i buy a PCIII made for a TL1000S or SV1000S to my 2004 raptor 1000cc?!
*confused*

Re: power commander compability??
Suzuki still manufactured the TLS engine (or had stock) after the original machines production cycle concluded. Therefore the Raptor was using the TLS engine after the TLS stopped being manufactured.

Okay, then there is a TLS engine in all raptor 1000 models?Treffynnon wrote:Suzuki still manufactured the TLS engine (or had stock) after the original machines production cycle concluded. Therefore the Raptor was using the TLS engine after the TLS stopped being manufactured.

welcome in
as far as I'm aware there's only one engine used for the Raptor 1000 and that's the TL1000

alright, I'll give it a try with the TL1000S power commander then, if it wont fit I know who to blame kidding, however it also sounds like the most resonable.
And If the TLS unit doesn't fit I know wich one that does.
I will be back on how it goes=)
Re: power commander compability??
Yep, TLS Powercommander
Should've been more clear in the post i think, lol.
Not sure about SV or even V-Strom units but i'll try a V-Strom PC V if i can get one for a good price (once i have a new Raptor since i got rear ended....).

according to the guy i spoke to from "Dynoet Research" , chris kelly (ckelly@dynojet.com if someone's interested in contacting them), the SV PCIII will not fit the TLS engine. I did not ask about the V-strom(DL1000) maybe that suits better.
btw, sorry about the accident, hope that u soon will be back in the raptor family!
