Hello from the netherlands
Hello from the netherlands
Hello fellow raptor riders,
Just want to introduce myself. 36, recident of a small town in the Netherlands. had a testdrive in 2001 with a V raptor 1000 from the importer but didn't buy 1 then.
Liked it very much but it was a to big a stretch of my budget. But....1,5 months ago went to the local bikeshop for a new jacket, and there stood a red V raptor 1000. man, what a nice looking bike.
Took a peak at the prize and it was reasonable. Took mij R6 to the salesdepartment and they made me an offer i just couldn't refuse. So, now i'm the proud owner of a V raptor with MIVV exhausts.
Did a tour in the Netherlands of 700 km in 2 days and went to germany for 4 days of blasting (1450 km) and really liked it. But i could hold its line in corners better. Found this forum and bought a Falco rearshock after reading the benefits. Next plan is a upgrade for the front shocks and maybe a K&N powercommander. So any ideas are welcome for the upgrades

Craptartan......
R1 forks fit straight in?
Most guys that I know of who done the R1 fork mods also had to use the R1 wheel & callipers etc.
Have you done this or know of anyone who has?
Some bikes even required the whole package R1 yokes, forks, wheel & callipers.

Re: Hello from the netherlands
R1 forks fit the yolks from the Rap, I kept the rap wheel with a modified R1 spindle and fitted R1 bluespot calipers, rap calipers dont fit the forks although someone handy could soon knock up a set of fitting plates if they wanted.Tommytuck wrote:Craptartan......

Went for a spin with my new girlfriend on the back, she loved it! This is my eleventh bike in 18 years but boy, what a fun to drive.
Hmmm a complete R1 front will fit........sounds like a good plan. I'll have a look around what a set up like that will cost. Seems a better deal than progressive springs.
