Front discs and pads ID
Anyone got any ideas on how I ID the front discs on my '02 rappy?
Front left one grabbed at rather high speed the other day, made me soil myself so decided to bite the bullet and blow my spare change on some new discs as the floaty riglet thingys are rusting and I keep getting an odd noise when braking at low speed. (like pushbike brakes)
cheers folks!
Oh BTW I did get the bike fixed it in the end and damn I'd forgot how I missed her...

eh up Frankiesan
izzit a thou or 650?
thou is 298mm floating 4mm thick (according to the manual) you can get wavy discs that fit!
I found wavies cheaper than replacing with original cagiva, though one of mine now rattle-eth like a rattlysnake, probly due to my disc-lock forgetfulness

Re: Front discs and pads ID
it's a 650
The pads are sintered (or however it's spelt) off a ducati I believe not sure bout the discs? are they not they not similar to another bike, if so would they not work out cheaper? asking since I know the calipers match other bike such as an Aprilia...

Pretty sure EBC make discs for this. Think Wemoto are an EBC retailer. Probably around £150 a side.

The front discs are the same - 298mm - for the 1000 and the 650...

Re: Front discs and pads ID
Whilst the callipers may fit it does not mean that discs will. Here are some reasons why:
- Different number of mounting bolts
- Differing mounting bolt offset
- Larger or smaller outer diameter
- Different inner diameter to go over the wheel spindle
- Different disc offset (angle away from wheel)

Thanks all
My mechanic has looked them over and says they're sweet so no need to replace. Turns out somat else happened and it wasn't the brakes at all.. (details of which maybe incriminating to admit)

Re: Front discs and pads ID
I hit the limiter..
Mechanic says it felt so harsh cause it kills it at ignition til revs drop thus why it did it 3 times but stopped once I rolled off.. First time it's happened to me, so went with what I thought it felt like..
I Wouldn't mind but I tried like crazy on Autobahn and Autostrader to make it do that but luggage created too much drag..
Bit embarrasing but least I know now.. Got to have a good chat about my tyre chioce aswell and the way it's affecting my riding.. Pilot Road 2's.. make the bike tunr abnormally fast and it unsettles me...
